Enterprise Architecture
Enterprise Architectures are an emerging approach for capturing complex knowledge about organizations and technology. The focus of enterprise architecture efforts is now shifting to become more holistic, thereby necessitating the use of comprehensive modeling tools to analyze and optimize the portfolio of business strategies, organizational structures, business processes / tasks and activities, information flows, applications, and technology infrastructure. That’s because enterprise architecture is about more than technology. It is about the entire organization and identifying all of the bits and pieces that make the organization work.
Business Architect
Business Architect is a core of Enterprise Architecture. He's working in strategy, operations, business process improvement. Business Architect is meaningfull more for executives than information technology people. He is the Purple Cow backed up by testimonials of those he's helped. Business Architecture takes into account a view of the industry and the current (and future) environment and climate (think of the current transformation of the health care industry). Business Architecture is never done. It is a continual evolution that involves the executives to think of multiple alternatives and where the business needs to be five to ten years from now.
